I'll see you at the finish line!

Marcus Aurelius, the last of "Good Roman Emperors" and a philosopher who considered destructive emotions to be the result of errors in judgment.  He once said, "If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment."

When you are running in the race tomorrow you might remember this quote because - believing you have the ability to revoke the power of negative self talk and the emotions they bring - is what it will take to overcome those challenges.

All of you have trained yourself to go the distance and tomorrow is no different than any other long run we have completed.   If negative self-talk and/or emotions interfere with your running, see it as Marcus Aurelius sees all destructive emotions.  Its just an "error" in judgment and you have the ability to revoke its power at any moment.

As I've said to many this past 12 weeks, "Run with Pleasure, Confidence and Pride".

I'll see you at the finish line!

All the best - all the time!
